Rating based arenas pair players closer in rating, in most pairings. The design of that type of arena is so that anyone can win them, regardless of rating.

However, if you suspect someone, report them.

The pairing is rating based. They are probably sandbagging

The design is such that anyone can win them. Think about that for a moment. Chess is the ultimate meritocracy. you play better you win more.So in arena you get a handicap. It is called rating. The higher your rating is the lower your chance of winning.

And the trick to win arena's is just that. Get your handicap as low as possible. Now that is offcourse a fools mission. But there are plenty fools all round. And chess.com offcourse wants as many fools as they can get.

So that is it. there is nothing to win in arena's. the higher you are placeds the less accurate your rating was at the start. That is all. There is

NO ACCOMPLISHMENT AT ALL.

You won. you are the fool. With a 100 rating or so. And what did it get you?
