I would fire you.
Well... that's why I'm trying to turn the table...
Hey all! Just like many people here, I've played 6000+ games so far and can say that I'm close to addiction now. It affected me to the point that I'm distracted at work for playing chess. So I've come up with an excuse and wanted to hear your opinions.
I will let anyone challenge me on chess.com and if my opponent wins, we will provide that person a 100% discount for my company's product (software $500 worth. if you don't need it, you can give it to your friend). If I win, the opponent may post to Twitter or Instagram about the product. It's a win-win between myself and the company. I get to play chess as much as I want during my work hours and my company would get some exposure.
Would anybody do it?
Given your rating you'll be giving out the product for free a lot.
The average chess player who would actually lose is probably not an influencer and them posting would not really give you much exposure.
Not sure what you're currently getting paid for but I'm guessing, from the quality of your suggestion, it's not product promotion.
So the original job won't get done and you'll probably be doing a lousy job at promotion and company will also lose money on the free give aways.
Sounds like a good plan.
I would fire you.

And now you want to be a disc jockey?
You're most welcome and nothing to apologize for. No anger nor talent here. Just my honest opinion, since it was solicited.
We’re i your supervisor, I would give you the chance to make a decision; do you want to play chess or remain employed with this organization.

Ok. I misunderstood then. I thought you were angry NOT because of your feedback on the promotion but because of your 2nd comment "Now you want to be a disc jockey?". I guess we can agree that it was a mocking and sarcastic comment to a certain extent. Hey - I always wanted to play chess with someone as good as you are but never got to play one because it won't match me with someone much better than I am, like yourself. Would you be generous enough to accept me as a friend here and the challenge as well?

well... I really want both...that' why I'm posting here in the first place lol..
Kids on summer break be like
Sorry that I didn't get this joke. Could you elaborate on this a bit more?
I'm thinking about it.
I probably won't do it but I am curious.
What kind of software is it?
Will DM you separately as the software remains highly confidential until the official launch later this month. You also have to agree that you won't disclose the information until the company goes public with it.

And in the right organization I can be perfectly acceptable. Just not in mine, on my dime.

your company probably needs new leadership who understands how much chess can contribute to strategic thinking and employee assessment. As someone working for a high-risk/high-reward company, I would never hire a (cowardly) chess player who has never sacrificed a queen (yes, you heard me right) before...
nice scambait post
Thank you for the assessment. First, it's not a scambait. Second, if it's a scambait, what do you lose? This is the case where the downside is negligible (15 minute of your life) and upside can be significantly higher. If you're interested, I'll DM you disclosing all of my info and the company.

Just a joke. Not mocking. Not being sarcastic.
Rarely play and mostly 2+1 when I get the time. The focus and stable connection required to play is less frequently available than what is required to just make a post.
What time will the games need to be?
If you accept, I will send you a calendar link where you can select a time at your convenience.

Really...? I thought playing chess here consumes one of the least amount of online traffic and stability. I'll be curious to know where you live... (no pun intended here) like North Nebraska? (as your natural English leads me to believe you're in the States).
