Trying to understand women's logic towards chess

I think if you compare the dynamic between men and women in more conservative and male dominated regions of the world to that in more liberal societies then it would become more apparent how much of behavior is determined by upbringing and environment. The idea that women had different but equally valuable talents was the main social viewpoint when women were thought to be best at managing a home and children while men were thought to be breadwinners in the U.S. back in the last century. Men and women have some differences due to their different biology but we are the same species.

Liberals are becoming regressive jokes.

I don't know if it would make you feel better if the name was different, but you live in a liberal western democracy. A socially conservative country would be somewhere like Malaysia, where homosexuality can result in whipping and a 20 year prison sentence.

I'm a dude and don't really understand makeup, purses, or designer cloths...we all have our shortcomings I guess....but my wife plays and enjoys chess as much as I do, so I guess I'm lucky.

"Women's logic" makes no more sense than "Chinese mathematics". To even use the expression reveals boundless ignorance.

Generally speaking, due to difference of brain chemistry, most women prefer to see a big difficult job as a series of smaller more easily managed tasks (which is okay - many men do this as well), but women also like to receive positive feedback after each step they complete successfully - to make sure they are in the correct direction. In chess there is no one giving you a pat on the back every time you play a good move - so in such an area typically women feel unsure, insecure, not confident. Without getting constant guidance, a game of chess can feel overwhelming to a majority of females.

Amazing insight!

Women are just pathetic little things, needing a pat on the back and constant guidance from a confident, secure man like you, aren't they Stuzzicadenti?

I can't take stuzz seriously.

Those poor things, needing guidance and a manly hand to hold at each turn!

Generally speaking, due to a difference in brain chemistry, most conservative men prefer to see the world as binary as possible (which is okay - many people do this as well), but they need positive feedback from learned traditions and societal conventions - to make sure their thinking is in the correct direction. The real world is full of nuance and ignorance, but this is both intellectually and emotionally difficult to handle - so in such a topic like women in chess conservatives typically feel unsure, insecure, and generally confused. Chess is a man's game after all because it's for smart people. Without getting constant guidance, and without consistently ignoring detail and new knowledge, a conservative can feel overwhelmed. So in such a topic they need to remind people how all women think and behave, and that while adorable, women are clearly not meant for the same tasks as men.
