In post 2 I ment to say : with(out) the assistance of engines, I can now add  

1. playing only Over The Board

2. playing over the internet, thanks to the computers.

Furthermore, Post 5, Not-Crazy Chess Player : " Adjourned Games" : I used to go to the library for a book on endgames, to study the position on the board.     And what trouble, when you had to travel the next week kilometers to the other club in another town, just for only a few moves...

Answering post 1 : ratings are okay for me, especially for/from players outside my club-colleagues

Addition to post 2 : I don't have help by an engine, I just play chess on my own (and I'm glad)
