U.S. Chess Championships 2024: Official Discussion Thread

Does anyone find it a little weird that the open section boards are labeled {last name, first name} and in the women’s section they are labeled {first name last name}? Come on, that’s weird.

This tournament is the U.S. championship, so only U.S. residents are in it.

Do you have a photo to show? I checked, and I can't see any images with the names at the table. The video coverage is showing names with first name first, last name last. Sometimes I will think the first name is the top (black) and the second name is the bottom (white). I think that is just how that graphic layout is though.
Sorry for being unclear, my friend. I meant here on chess.com, when one displays all of the games from the current round.
The U.S. Chess Championships take place October 11-24 at the Saint Louis Chess Club in St. Louis, Missouri, packed with top players in both Open and Women's sections.
Both championships are a 12-player round-robin. The time control is 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 more minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment per move. Players are not allowed to offer draws.
You can follow the broadcast and games on our Open and Women's Events Pages.
