Good call - when Roman's name was mentioned to Botvinnik he said "a man to have nightmares about"! Apparently he was outplaying Dzindzhi in a tournament but fell for a tactical cheapo and lost.....

Can I sense an element of internal Scandinavian jealousy from the poster of the question? All Sweden ever produced in chess (besides Collijn's classic manual, where the opening section was revised by Rubinstein, Reti, Spielmann and Nimzowitsch) was Ulf Andersson........a brilliant player, but not a WC contender....
