I can't believe that there are soo many players on this site who is real as****.

E.g they are playing this position.

If I was him, I would be ashamed after this(even worse, he is IM).

And this is not first time, there are lot of rude players, who play some positions which are basic draw, just to flag you. And why? because of 5-6 rating points, ONLINE RATING POINTS?

If you really care about this rating, please send me message, I will be pleased to let you win 10 games and gift you 100-200 points.

I like this site, but users here are not players, they don't like chess, they are playing for some imaginary rating.

You are new. Losing on time is evidently painful to you or you wouldn't be so upset.

All you had to do was take his last pawn and you could have just let your clock run out to get a draw.

Which move could he have taken his last pawn? It would have to be after move 49, because that's when there was only one pawn left. With the bishop defending I dont see where it could have been done, unless by accident.

You're right. I had just assumed he was black.

Lol I'm not new.It is not painful and I dont really care, I just want more players to show some dignity and respect, because chess should be like that.

Um... thats not very nice, you know. At least don't say it out loud...

That's how 3 minute games work. That's why the ratings are separate. Don't let it get to you.

Dignity and respect in a 3 minute game?

Is that supposed to be a joke? happy.png

I don't want to offend and I won't, but you have to know that chess is more than knowledge ( with bad attitude you can't be agood player).

It's online chess, you don't get anything from that win, but you lose a lot. But hey, I'm only kid who thinks in that way, don't listen to me.

When you play with a clock, time is part of the game. Trying to win by time is a legitimate strategy. Winning by time is no less a win then winning by checkmate. I'm sorry, but that's the game. If that's not how you want to play, don't use a clock. Or compromise and use classical time controls, e.g., 2 1/2 hours for the 1st 40 moves etc. Don't play by an agreed set of rules then whine when you lose according to the rules you agreed to.

Don't get me wrong, I know what you mean, and this might not ever happen OTB because people will show respect.

I even saw Wesley So, in an online blitz game, offer a draw in a drawn position when it was something like 1 minute for him, and 10 seconds for his opponent.

That's really nice, of course, but also pretty naive I'd say. Online speed chess isn't mean, but it's not nice either. Experienced people play to win, period (I assume Wesley isn't very experienced with online blitz play... for example I couldn't imagine Naka ever being so soft).

So yeah, if you're "only a kid" that might have something to do with it.

Sorry, but I have to say this- That's the reason why you have 1500, because you only look at the "rules". Wining by time in position where your opponent has opposite coloured bishop is sign of a big as****.Show some respect especially if the game was good, give a draw if he doesnt have time in theoretically drawn position, that's how players should behave. In tournaments, if you have rook against rook, it's immediate draw(ofc if there is no forced win) even if you have 1 second on clock, but it's not the case here.

Sometimes tournament games are tough. Your opponent is a huge idiot, you outplay them 50 moves only to lose on move 51. That, at least for me, is a lot harder to deal with than anything I've had happen to me online.

So I don't want to offend you, yes, chess is about more than knowledge, it's also about mental toughness. Which makes me wonder, if you have this much trouble moving beyond a loss in a meaningless online blitz game I wonder how far you'll be able to go OTB.

You don't understand the game if you think "that's how players should behave in tournaments" and would be naive to think that's how players behave in tournaments. You clearly don't understand that managing time vs accuracy is part of the game. The fact that the person with the better position attained such better position is by using more time. So if he didn't leave enough time to secure the win, he gets the draw. Why do you play timed games if you don't want to live with the result? Simply play classical time controls. Maybe I'm not a strong player but I don't blame or berate my opponent for my losses. I'd rather be a weak player with good character than a strong player that blames his opponent for his own shortcomings.

Avatar of slow_enough

Preggo you didn't understand me at all. I don't care about that lost game, I just want to say to players that this rating is not important and is far better to be a PLAYER, in those EASY THEORETICAL POSITIONS.

But I didn't expect that you will understand me, don't worry.

Well I guess you "understand the game" . I'm not sure that you see how I could easily draw the game ( playing kh1,kg1,kh2) maybe that is the reason why you write such a stupid comments.

Well I'm talking about character here, and you do not have one like this IM from the picture. No more posts here, I don't need "advice" from those who "understands" chess.

Isn't time management a very important part of the short games. I have seen Naka in his streams just play on to flag. Its all part of the fun.

Yes.

I agree with you.   Chess.com and all players should recognize draws in such situations.

Every GM that I've seen play regularly plays to flag in blitz. Just saying...

I get it, this topic is for you to vent your frustrations. Sometimes people don't behave how we want them to, and it's frustrating.
