I don't think online play here is as serious as OTB. Also, you need to consider the large amount of cheating that goes on here which can affect your rating.

Cheating may keep someone below 2300 blitz. I really can't see it keeping them at 700 blitz.

No offense, but if you have a certain rating after a certain period it's because you have the abilities of someone within that rating range.  If you're honest with yourself about your improvement needs you'll improve faster.  Do you drop pieces?  Work on your thinking process and eliminate blunders from your play.  Always seem to fall into a losing endgame?  Don't just unthinkingly trade down or offer to trade.  Had a hard to win won position?  Work on your technique.  Do you know how to convert this into a win:

If you honestly answered "no" then you aren't underrated:

At your level work on basic tactics, king safety, and basic theoretical endgames.

I hope you found the posted game instructive.  Stop dropping pieces and trading excellent ones for horrible ones.

Perhaps a better way to ask is, does anyone think that when they win a rated game they don't go high enough, or when they lose a game they go down to far?

Thats a good point. What are all these cheaters using with a 800 blitz rating? Sargon?
