1.) Seperate ranked game mode that records the screen and the person playing. ONLY when the person accepts to be recorded to enter said mode.
Imagine Omegle but with Chess, that’s basically what we should go for. This will greatly reduce cheating based on how people are most likely to cheat. Being able to see how the player reacts to a move will help catch cheaters in the act. Sometimes they take too long to play a move that’s obvious, with an Omegle style mode we can see why is the person taking so long. I also believe it will be better to have this mode in blitz.
2.) If we can’t record their screen then we should still follow an Omegle style of playing chess. Just with both players webcamming. BUT this mode is only allowed in phones… why? Because I have noticed that when cheaters cheat through their phone they would switch apps and the match shows you a disconnect timer. Obviously if the person after every couple moves goes into a disconnect timer then we know he is switching apps to cheat. Then if the person is cheating through another screen we will still be able to see them struggling to input the moves from the app into the pc as timer runs out. That’s why I suggested blitz because it puts more pressure in them if they’re constantly taking 3-5 seconds per move.
I also believe this will take this app to new heights! Imagine how many people would like meeting new people around the world and playing chess with them and talking verbally with them. That’s what made irl famous in streaming, or Omegle style apps. People want to see each other and interact. Let’s do it with chess while at the same time reducing cheating.
Tell me what you all think of this idea. Is it an improvement worth partaking? If you like the idea copy paste this or spread it. Either chess.com or another company will recognize the insane money making potential of this idea.
