Unpopular opinion: timeouts shouldn't end in a draw unless there's ABSOLUTELY no way to win.

Earlier today, I found myself in a blitz game. I was cruising along at 40 seconds to my opponent's 5 when he unleashed a series of king-pawn forks that won all but one of my pawns. I was still doing decently and knew that I could secure the win by defending well for those 5 seconds, but then you can tell he PURPOSELY goes for my pawn to get a draw and succeeds with 2 seconds left. there's nothing I can do, even if I take with knight its a draw. This is annoying because:

1) its still possible to win with a knight, say he moves his king into a corner and barricades himself with say a promoted bishop and his knight allowing me to mate; who knows he might just be this stupid

2) you can often force others into this unlucky draw scenario where you play a drawing move instead of a winning move just because you're down on time and don't want to flag while converting.

What do you guys think?
