Unusual opponent

Good day fellow chess players- long time listener, first time caller! Today I was thoroughly schooled by a player who started out at a 1000 rank, and in three days was at 1400. This person does not accept chats, has a non-human name, and is actively playing 14 games at once. Is this a bot, or just an awesome player and not uncommon? Thank you very much!

And they accepted my open game, so i just went with it instead of losing points. Not complaining, but I found it a tad deceiving is all. The lesson was appreciated, though.

My guess is it's either a bot or someone using a computer program.

You hung pieces, and missed a mate in 1.  Your opponent is not using anything but his own skills.

It's not uncommon for someone to play 14 correspondence games at once. A lot of people play many more than that. As for the rapid rating increase, your opponent joined the site 6 days ago, so the increase is probably because 1400 is his actual skill level.

Thank you, good to know that is not a sign of a bot, and peeps do play go that heavy with games! I certainly have a lot to learn, and am cool with getting pwned- it's that combination of random name, multiple games, and quick succession that seemed strange to me. Regardless, sounds like you put it to bed as not unusual, I appreciate the feedback.

Yeah, again, the combination of behavior seemed strange, but if some folks say that's normal, I'll take it with a grain of salt. Thanks dude!

Yeah, I had forgotten that you play correspondence games. I was thinking it was Live Chess, like I play. I was thinking, 14 games at once? Gotta be a bot! LOL But yeah, I agree.
