Same mistake again: Facebook isn't thriving.

It was my poor choice of words. I meant we're learning about the dynamics of toxic environments even as toxicity is thriving there.

Actually, all I mean is that the net forces us to express important real-world feelings to others using doo-hickeys. The trick then is to remember that the real part of that is the abstract idea. Often the message is, "I heard that." Actually a useful thing to say, and that's just how it gets said. Via doo-hickeys.

Yeah, the reaction emojis aren't SO bad, but the value of the anonymous up/down vote is... well maybe it helps moderation if they have tools to filter / search for topics that way.

Enhancing online interaction isn't bad, but I don't like it when it enforces groupthink. For example the 3rd post in this topic got downvoted quickly... why? And will that person be less likely to voice a negative opinion (even jokingly) in the future?

Discussion is more fun (and a lot more useful) when dissenting voices feel free to speak.

It absolutely has problems. It might be marginally more effective than either emojis or nothing, however. In which case, if it's true, we'd be generally better off. But then I was actually *at* Hands Across America. :-)

Started punching all the icons in the 1st post- numbers along with names appeared and changed ! with every tap. Too funny. Seems a short wait to revote. Advertising loves this gimmick. Every hit and sales increase. 😵‍💫

This is why I left reddit. When a horde of players rated 800 downvote you because they don't understand your post.

I know it's appealing to businesses because of its addictive quality (when your post get 1 upvote it's a little dopamine) but from a human being's perspective this sort of thing is pretty annoying.

Yeah, this up/down voting is kinda silly, but whatever. I was playing with your post. It will let me upvote once or downvote once. But I can cycle between up and down countless times. I guess that's good for people who can't make up their minds...

You can always get the comment to no downvotes. All you have to do is click upvote which both upvotes and cancels a downvote and keep doing that. It doesn't work after you refresh though.

Hello there, the best site currently for buying reddit upvotes is https://smediabots.com/Posts/reddit-upvotes/

There you can get a free test of 10 upvotes on any posts, it is also very cheap and reliable to buy large amounts of upvotes.
