do you stop your urge to play wild and uncontrolled.

my latest live chess may not have been pretty but I played something I thought was great fun and without any disciplin.

do you stop your urge to play wild and overly creative?

All the time. I always check my calculations again after I think of a plan, and more times than not I find a reason why it shouldn't work. through playing Magnus app I found that careful planning is important. I use to take a lot more risks than I do now, and learned that patiently improving a position is stronger than these wild flights of fancy. :)

Actually, most of the time I just close my eyes and click and drag on the screen, hoping I'm making legal moves.  It's a thrill.

It depends. If you are you or me it is better to restrain some creative ideas. If you are Tal or Nezhmetdinov or Alekhine indulge your creative ideas.
