Susy would be pronounced soo-see. But I think what you guys are going for is suzy, short for Susanne or Suzanne. Whether spelled with an s or z, it is always pronounced with a z in America at least. Plus, it's totally offensive to call a male chess player by a girl's name (girls suck at chess)
