Plenty you dont seem to get it why is it most have agreed to my blog and you insist on your 6 week vacation as needed.Let me repeat you cant fix stupid. What does time on have to do with common sense? Tourny's are wonderfull and paint drying is just boreing apparently many of us rec players, more so than you pros.Again thru the years my raceing was endorsed by others(sponsorship)so bless you if you'd like to take forever to play vacate and keep on.By all means go pro. What are they clocks for I see selling on E bay and tournys? I'm thinking when its time to vacate.

Here_Is_Plenty

Wow.  Really cannot read can you?  Do not assume others have the same problem.  I did not and am not saying I want 6 weeks vacation on chess.com, the mention of that was that I get that from work and AM NOT expecting as much as that here but need SOME.  How clearer can I be? "Go pro" - yet again you make a nonsense statement - at the risk of calling you a "newby" (your word not mine) - let me explain:  I am NOWHERE near good enough to go pro, an IM told me to give up chess and play marbles a few months ago.  Even if I was a Grandmaster it would be difficult to earn money as a "pro"; given that I have two mortgages to pay that might be a problem.  And still you come out with "you can't fix stupid" - is that what your doctors tell you?

Why is it some dont get it.Again Plenty Im not interesteding in your personel vacations or mortages.Bower or whatever now social networking is just that then why dont you get on Facebook?Read what others are saying the concensus of the post agree that vacation's are being abused. No one here is trying to change the site just questioning some with no respect for others.Dont blow smoke up me Im a little old for rectric.Read the forum before you critize and address others.Im not the culprit nor cure.I can live without both of you 2's comments.Maybe the best thing for both of you now would be to vacate afterall thats your forum and no one elese is to voice their opinion.P on a stump somewere elese.

@ Roundyracer.   I've looked at your game archive, and your complaint puzzles me.  You have completed 10 games.  It looks as if all were finished within 2 weeks.  That's fast.  Of the 3 in-progress games, one is about a month old, and the other 2 are about 4 days old.  These games appear to be moving along rapidly for turn-based games (especially the 3-day per move games).

You better check again.Ive got one and only one Ive complained about. What are you looking for me to post the gents name?Youre another who has misread.Check to see how often hes gone vacation.Thats the point.Move vacate move vacate and etc.????
CalamityChristie

to be able to take vacation daily, you ought to be a Chevy Chase lookalike

Roundyracer, it could be useful if you tried to understand what the others are writing before telling they are idiots.

None is questioning the fact that there is some abuse of the vacation system. Yet, vacation time is necessary, and as I wrote it earlier some people, although not writing in this post, consider that the current system does not give them enough vacation (I'm talking about legitimate vacation time when they leave for countries without the internet).

The fact that there could be a consensus among some group of players (whoever wrote in this post, or you and your friends, or you and your ego) to do thing XXX does not mean that chess.com staff must bow before them and immediately implement their suggestions. Not everyone is reading all forum topics (not everyone is reading even part of the forum in fact) and they could disagree.

P.S. : If you are American as your flag suggest, I guess you could put more effort in your English. This is not grammar trolling, but 'if post be poorly write post be difficult read'.

If you are so concerned about your time why bother to post ?

I receive alerts for this topic as had posted earlier in it. You have had accurate responses to your poorly-phrased questions.

Accept that you have inexperience of the site & the rules pertaining to vacation. They were not made simply to exacerbate your own impatience at speed-of-progress in a tournament you play in.

If you consider someone to be abusing these rules then suggest you complain directly to chess.com help/support about that.

I've just turned off track comments for this thread.  Hope I'm not out-of-turn, no pun intended, as I'm a relative newbie too, but I can feel Roundy's pain a little and my advice is stick to non-vacation tournaments from now on.

Well okay.  I have attempted to reason with you with a few solid arguments.  Your viewpoint is limited and closed; you have a poor empathy for potential situations and you mock and dismiss others who do not agree with you.  Regardless of the case which you present of the person who has aggrieved you, your overall argument was against vacations.  I have not used vacations for a long time as I have had no need to and do not abuse the situation - having said that, the mere facility and flexibility makes it easier to coordinate my irrelevant outside life.  There is good news for you though, poster, despite a short spell at chess.com you have managed to rapidly categorise yourself:  Troll.

Roundy, i have 2 current games. One of these is against an opponent whose auto-vacation kicked in after every move against me.

He had over a month of vacation time left, so he extended his time control by allowing auto-vacate to kick in every time he moved.

he bored my ass off.

the silly sausage just got himself booted as well.

Roundy, now this is more than enough. Maybe there is a consensus in the posters that vacation should be reduced, but there is a stronger consensus that, having made no effort to understand others or even to get understood (poorly thought and written posts), you are a troll, i.e. someone that thinks that the quality of his posts is proportional to their number, length and frequency.

You can complain about a conspiracy directed against the poor newbie that you are. I wouldn't expect much sympathy, if I were you.
