Value of time vs. mate/resign wins

Doesn't it bug you when someone is clearly only playing to win on the clock - not just when they are behind, but even from the beginning?
no but i'm special
You know what I am talking about, people playing only hedgehog/bind kind of structures and moving pieces behind their pawn wall, wanting you to take all the risks or actually calculate how to break in to their turtled position.
sounds entirely reasonable to me
The “fix” is to play games with an increment. As long you move faster than the increment then you’ll never lose on time.

in 1 minute bullet it is clearly a legitimate tactic to play for a win or draw on time alone.
Leaving out the part where your opponent's computer may be faster than yours but you are the faster thinker. So that tactic only words great under one condition.

if some one is using a computer in a bullet game they are completely PATHETIC. Actually that goes for any game.

True.

This whole argument just goes to prove that one's REGULAR (Not Quick or Blitz) over the board rating is more accurate and legitimate than any bogus internet blitz or even internet standard rating. You've got too many variables to trust an online blitz rating:
1) The clock
2) People cheating with a chess engine (MASSIVELY more difficult to pull off and get away with at an over the board tournament)
3) Server issues - loss of connectivity
4) Many other factors
