vote to undo move button
in games against friends, there should be a button to vote to undo move. theres been so many times where i was in a totally winning position against a friend and i genuinely misclicked a piece which completely lost me the game. i think if both players agree that the move was invalid then we should be able to undo.
If you move too fast because you're trying to win on time, and you misclick, it's entirely your fault. So I suppose you want a button that asks your friend if you can take the move back. But the move was valid because you made it and if people start doing that then some will pretend it was a misclick when they only saw the error after thy moved. And also people will friend people simply so they can get their moves back. And if they don't agree then you will have leverage and unfriend them and not play with them again. So it would lead to arguments and poor behaviour and isn't a good idea.
Incidentally, such a button would be against the rules of chess because it is a distraction to your opponent. So if they introduced it they would be breaking the rues of chess.
You can undo moves against bots because bots are for training. They get sarcastic and say "rewinding". If you do it too much and get into a winning position they sometimes refuseto move. There isn't an "offer draw" button with bots and it's breaking the rules not to have one. That proves it's training only.Yet it posts the games on your profile.
It existed in Yahoo Chess. (A moment of silence for Yahoo Chess.)
Your opponent would have to allow it.
It should be in Chess.com.
(I don't play on Chess.com because it infringes on my Freedom of Speech which is sacred in the Ee'd Plebnista.)
I was wondering about something. If online chess is having a bad influence in the real world.
(Note. I think Chess.com increases the number of chess players, that is a good thing. Besides that I've got a lot of issues with Chess.com)
I met a guy in the library. He was playing chess on Chess.com. After he finished his game I asked him if he wants to play chess (on a real chess board in the library).
I propose we play off the clock (if we play on the clock I would set it to 1 hour and that is a relatively long time).
And we'll play a sparring game. If we (he) make an obvious mistake, we'll take it back.
He doesn't want to do that. As he played and made mistakes and I pointed them out, he'll just say that's the way it stays.
He treated me like an "opponent" to fight only. Not as a friend, not as somebody he can learn from, not somebody he can talk to.
1. Either he's bad socially.
2. Faceless online chess like Chess.com is habituating that faceless opponent he has to to fight mentality.
I wonder.
Hmm. Things that make you wanna go hmm.
