Don't make excuses just go and play , I don't think openings should matter too much to the point where they decide all of your games .

I have been debating for a long time when to begin playing OTB chess and I constantly put off going in favor of studying more and playing online. My current excuse is that I have not fully prepared all my openings yet and would rather not play OTB, lose and come to the conclusion that my openings were not fully prepared when I already know that. I feel like I will keep finding excuses to delay going and maybe I would learn more and improve faster if I did go. Anyone have this situation and/or advice to offer?
