Yeah I think Kasparov had his own private gymnasium - was a big advocate of fitness.
walking

i started walking 40 mins a day 4 months ago and have lost over 2 stone so far(coupled with sensible eating).my health has improved ,however my chess is still prone to the blunders of a neophyte
.

“Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes."

Didn't Churchill say that? Or was it Twain...

Never the Twain.

Ahhh, I had to look it up -- Jack Handey.
"If trees screamed, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, and for no good reason."

Jack Handey !! Here's another fine quote:
Sometimes I put the kids in the car and tell them we're going to Disneyland. I drive until we get to a burnt down barn and then say "Oh, Look! It burnt down".

@wishiwonthatone, thats horrible, but quite funny! Its a good thing i dont like disneyland though!
yeh, I'm sorry - I know it's horrible. And yet when i saw it I couldn't help myself from laughing. I have a terrible sense of humor.
I got into a contest where I have to walk 10000 foot steps a day.
so I was wearing a pedometer at work today ( a device that tells you how many foot steps you walk)
I was walking less than 2900 steps at work.
So after work I had to walk over 7100 footsteps in order to reach the goal.
I tell you this in order to give you one advice. walk at least half an hour a day if you have sedentary work like me.
I believe being fit will help you becoming better at chess.
