Warmer climates do not produce great chess players?

I just read an interview with Capablanca and he pretty much said that warmer climates do not produce great players. Is there some truth to this?

Yes it is true. Cold climate players are indoors more. Warm climate players go to the beach!

Life thrives in warm climates. (Thats one of the reasons why this whole global warming thingy is nonsense).

Why must every discussion turn into global warming?

And anyway. Not all life thrives in warm weather. Seals, for example.
