My 2 cents, I am a solid 1400 player on chess.com. I am nowhere near as good as I once was. And I accepted that but I still enjoy playing chess. At best I made 1910 uscf and I have an honorable mention in the FIDE world system. I am proud of my personal accomplishments. I do not need a cookie.
We need more chess titles (FM/IM/GM aren't enough)
