could it be that it was in an arena and the arena ended?
Weird Draw
In one game, i was losing, and the guy was 2 obvious moves away to checkmate (stairs mate) and he done 3 move repetition...
i just had a wierd draw too https://www.chess.com/game/164167989628?action=createLiveChallenge this wasnt even the same move 3 times in a row like what
It has happens almost every 5th or 6th game in 5 min blitz. A couple of times in 10 and 30 min rapid. Seems to only happen when I have a winning position or am a couple moves from checkmate and only on the opponents turn. I flip between moves with the arrows on the side to make sure that im not dropped from the game and the connection bars are still there. Im not sure if this helps or not. There is no elo lost or gained, but sense this only seems to happen in winning positions for me its quite discouraging. Is there somthing happening on the opponent side of things that needs looked into? For context, I am on a cat 6 cable LAN connection and have fiber optic services. Unless somone is cutting cables the connection shouldn't drop. The problem has occurred on my iphone on cell, diffrent wifis, and diffrent wifis on my laptop. I haven't tried to play on an android or window based device. If it is truly a problem on my end Id love an explanation. If it is chess.com a better error message would be nice. This isn't a 60fps shooter that requires 0-ping. chess.com servers shouldn't drop this much. Ill try my best to look into it with something like Wire Shark.

Your opponents can’t impact your connection to the game

Your opponents can’t impact your connection to the game
To clarify, I am well aware that Chess.com uses a client-server architecture and that opponents cannot directly interact with my local network. I am not suggesting a P2P DDoS attack.
My local network is perfectly stable (Fiber, Cat 6), which is exactly why I am raising this. The issue isn't that I am disconnecting; it's that the server is suddenly throwing a 'Game Aborted' state deep into the middle or endgame. Since an 'Abort' is only supposed to happen at the very beginning of a match like if someone doesn't make their first move, a mid-game abort points to a server-side issues.
Because this is exclusively happening when I have a forced mate or an advantage, it suggests a possible server-side exploit. A possible explanation could be that certain players are intentionally sending malformed API requests or corrupted packets to the server instance hosting our match, forcing the instance to crash and dump the game to avoid an Elo loss.
I'm asking if anyone else has noticed a spike in forced mid-game aborts, as this entirely bypasses the standard disconnect/abandonment timers.
i just played a game with someone, then it said draw by double forfeit and now it doesn’t show up in any of my games. What happened
