How do you deal with weird and rude  people on chess?

Avatar of artfizz

Depending upon the severity, do any or all of the following:

1. Disable chat

2. Block them

3. Report them

What should I do if another member is rude or abusive?

Block chat, ignore them and avoid them.

I enjoy speaking with foreigners in their own tounge. Unless its German, which I'm conversational in, I can't do it in a blitz game because I'll have to run back and forth to google translate and eventually lose on time.

Weird is one thing; rude is another.  i get disturbed when people taunt after winning, or if they are snotty.

Just ignore them and move on. They're not worth your time.

weird? well, far be it from the Deviant one to comment on that, but ...rude?! on chess.com?!?! nah my good sir, in some cultures it is apparently a sign of affection to be called and $#@# faced @$$hole!  And for the record, my mother was a saint....

The best way to shut someone up is to beat them, disable chat, and spend your time thinking of ingenious ways to frustrate them back on the board, always remember:

You can be offended, or become the offender (just not verbally, that is for the mediocre minded, petulant troglodytes with out the vocabulary to define the dichotomy of the human condition without four letter words).

Tolerate the strange; Ignore the Rude; and Enjoy the Interaction with the Polite, Normal Majority.
