TT rating resets maybe. I haven't reset mine in a while, so I don't know if the site has changed to keep history when that is done or not.

The graph starts again when you reset it. Apparently there is a bug that lets you do the same puzzle many times over, he was probably using that or cheating, then playing properly at peaks.
Or just a very good player who got bored and wanted to build up again.
It doesn't matter if the graph is wiped or not when you reset. The above graph doesn't have a consistent low point, so that can't have been what was happening anyway.
He was just messing around with an engine or abusing a glitch or whatever, then letting the rating slide again.
Exactly, if he was resetting his TT history, then it would come all the way down to 1200. But in this case there is no fixed low point.

Well, resetting will put you at your default rating and the first session done after that could result in a different high for the day, which could explain that. It's a moot point since the reset apparently still wipes out the old rating history.

Depends on which version of the site the account was created on. v3 it could start at 1400 or 1800 (or 800, 1000, or 1200 )
I've been wondering, too about some of the higher tactics ratings people have. If you look at the leaders' last 25 tactics, in nearly every case they are getting 100% of them right, and getting exactly 1 point each for each one. I find it incredible that anyone can do that day in and day out without any errors at all (some of these higher solutions are quite difficult with 8-9 moves deep).
People usually memorize the puzzles. I have been getting some repeated puzzles and I perfectly remember them soo.... getting 4000 rating is possible.
Why dont you message the dude and ask him about his weird drops?
Congrats to him for learning all of chess.com's puzzle library!!!
RESPECT.
And this time Im serious lol.
There are some tactics ratings now in the 5000 to 6000 range. I appreciate that there are some people really good at chess, but I think there are some folks out there who have found a way to use their engine. It's pointless, since the tactics trainer is for the player to practice, and the rating doesn't matter.
What are your thoughts on this weird TT graph? I found this on an untitled player's profile.
The sudden drops from 4000 to around 1750 and back to 4000 is what I found weird.
