Chess.com is going to be the biggest site on the net. Because it is Free Membership.  But there is Bound to be costs involved.  So if you are going to keep it free why not set-up a Pay by donatations only. So Our chess Community Donate towards the costs.

Then them that are in a position to donate can and them that cannot don't lose out.

Just a thought

Why not become a premium member instead of donating?

I'm sure though if you wanted to make an actual donation, Erik can supply you with a "donate" PayPal button though...

Why is mygame such a smart mouth?  Anyways, we can donate towards the cost already by buying memberships.  So this isn't nessecary.

yeah, if you're going to give money to the site, you might as well take advantage of the extra offered features.

Metal-Archives accepted donations from website users/contributors either last year or earlier this year, who wanted to help the site admin meet their server costs as it was free from advertising unlike rockdetector. However after a few months, the funding stopped. As honorable as your idea may be, it only works in the short term.
