1) I first studied chess seriously on Wikipedia too :)
2) How about you post some games of yours, and annotate them here? I'm to lazy to get into your profile. To start, post one loss of yours and I will comment. (If I don't, message me if you want)
Like with pretty much any other beginner, I want to improve my chess skills. Other than the obvious answer to play more, I would probably focus on one aspect of chess (e.g strategy, tactics, openings).
There was a nice guy who advised me to 1) advance my center pawns first (to take control of the center), which I have done and 2) take care of hanging pieces (pieces that are not "watched" by any other pieces) which I sometimes accidentally ending up doing (aka blundering).
I've done a little research on chess, although admittedly, it was on Wikipedia :P. I know a little about strategy, such as fighting for the control of the center. I know a little about tactics, since I came from playing Xiangqi (Chinese Chess), although I didn't play a lot.
I still make stupid mistakes (e.g losing my rook to a bishop from across the board with no way to take the bishop).
Judging from the games on my profile, what is the biggest weakness I should address first? I think my biggest weakness is that I tend to focus on defending rather than attacking (most of my wins are due to when I realize that I have an opportunity to attack immediately with no immediate consequences).
