Something that really annoys me is when people whistle through their nose, like if their nose is clogged and when they breathe it makes a whistle sound.
What are rules in playing OTB as far as habits go?

That's a good one. I forgot also the passing of gas.

FIDE rule 12.6:
It is forbidden to distract or annoy the opponent in any manner whatsoever. This includes unreasonable claims, unreasonable offers of a draw or the introduction of a source of noise into the playing area.
Although complaining to an arbiter that your opponent is smiling might be considered an unreasonable claim.

Whatsoever is not whatsoever. When we get an error page showing up and Hara Kiri aka Nakamura is seen twirling a piece, that would be one of the things I mentioned. So annoyances will still be going on. Would Magnus in said situation have to complain to get it taken care of or a TD would spot it on his/her own and deal with it? What to do about a player keep adjusting in a chair or some of the other things being done? The complainer would probably be scoffed at. Some times a guy would keep smiling at me as if he made a great move and I would be losing. And another thing, I HATE when people lick their fingers then touch chess pieces. Unless a TD is fastidious, probably nothing happens as lots of people lick their fingers. Why do people even need to lick their fingers when turning pages of books? I once reported to the administration of a teacher licking his palm out to his fingers when handing out papers - the brilliant minds who become teachers - well I objected to taking a test as a protest. Where does hitting a clock hard fit in? Stop and complain a clock got hit hard? Who'd listen to that and act upon it? Again, I bet the complainer would be scoffed at.

To Federation leaders: A TD allowed a player to relentlessly smile at me, licked his fingers then touched chess pieces. Will you do something about it?
>>>>>>Into the trash bin.

Wrong judgment and strange anyone would think this is an act of trolling. Plenty of bases of contention. I gave explicit examples. I will not deal with unreasonable behavior.

? Obviously I was not asking federation employees to do anything via this site. It was an example had I contacted them through the appropriate channels.
When I mention habits I am speaking of rude or distracting behavior such as
1) smiling
2) steering
3) tapping (fingers on table or feet on floor)
4) coughing
5) yawning
6) constantly adjusting body in chair
7) constantly stretching out arms
8) getting up, siting down, getting up sitting down
9) twirling pieces with hand or hands and possibly done only when it's the opponent's turn
10) hitting the chess clock hard realizing if it's your clock you really want to take good care of it
I've seen all these things before. I think it'd be hard to enforce but I guess some people really try their tricks. This is beyond weird smells such as body odor or from cigarettes, distracting attire, and other non-physical movements.
What do you think?
