a 1000 player beats hikaru over the board

i mean, never say never

it could be a 1/10000000000000000000000000 chance and its still a chance

maybe he had a really bad headache that day, or he slipped on a banana peel on the way to the game and couldn't think properly

if you played hikaru, what are the odds you win the match? don't say zero because there's always a chance, and if you did, how would you win?

its ok if ur 1000 rated and im 1000 rated, we need to find one more 1000 rated player and we 3 can beat hikaru

That's not the way it works

Three 1000 players aren't going to be much stronger than one 1000 player and then only if their strengths complement each other.

A rough guess would be to take the rating difference between two players, divide it by 100 and raise two to the power of the resulting number. Convert that to a percentage and that is the number of points out of 100 that the player would be expeted to score (note that only gives the total points, not actual wins vs two draws).

So a 1000 would take about one point in 65576 versus a 2600.

so if hikaru is willing to play me 65,576 times, i will beat him once? (so ur telling me there's a chance?) happy
