Moving your pieces to random squares without a tactic in mind to threaten an opponent's piece or develop your own is bad most of the time. It could lead to blunders, losing a piece, or giving away the game. This just shows the importance of openings/gambits in chess.
Although choosing an opening is mostly situational (correct me if I'm wrong) I am still curious about your thoughts. I am aware that there are all sorts of videos and articles on the internet about this subject but I wanted to hear your own experiences using said opening. Is it complex to learn but rewarding? Does it only work in ratings ranging from 1000 and below? What are its pros and cons? etc.
With that said, in your opinion, what are the recommended openings that beginners should learn that they could use in both lower and higher levels of play for both black and white pieces?
