I think the only requirement is that you play a live game that has the opening.

Are you sure you have played it since the book system was implemented?
I believe it just does not work as expected. I've tried playing a game starting with the move order 1. d4 1. d5 2. Nf3 2. Nf6 3. Bf4, which is the one that appears here https://www.chess.com/openings/London-System , as I had some doubts that other move orders would be detected, but that did not work
As far as I know, there are no other requirements to get the "book" apart from playing the opening. I got a lot of them by playing unrated games against the extremely weak Komodo5, so I don't really know where's the problem.

I have the same problem with London, I think it's not working.
It is looking for a very specific line. It's possible it's bugged now, but most people that have tried getting it, took a while for the exact move order for both sides to trigger it.

I just played it and didn't get the badge. The Analysis and the live analysis (while you're playing) said "London System" so somewhere, it knew what it was. Just refused to give a badge for it.

I think it is a bug as I have played probably 1000s of games in the London with every opening variation and move order and haven't gotten it

It is still not working! All my analysis said that I was playing the London-System and I played it in the same order with the same responses as described in chess.com openings... Meanwhile I improved my play but I am still sad that I did not get the badge.

While it is possible that the Opening explorer isn't loading all your games, I don't see any opening under your games where you were white and you had the following line:
