both game are fast, thought I'd say Xiangqi is faster.

Chess is slightly more complex.

In both games the pawn are not so important.

I'd say there more mobility in Xiangqi, and chess players cannot do anything when its an closed position (pawn structure).

One particulary fact about xiangqi is that it focuses on attacking rather than position. (slightly more)

Personally I prefer chess over xiangqi, but the latter is also a great game too. Hope it made you discover a new hobby and enjoy it!

The rooks have the same movement, other are similar not equal, the catapult cannon jump over one piece to eat his movement like the rook. It dont have a pawn chain to protect king, rook and cannon attack very fast.

Shut up and stop bumping years old topics about Xiangqi. Everyone already knows about it. Nobody cares and if they do they can go play Xiangqi.

Ok.

Thanks for letting us know what everyone cares about.

Also, thanks for typing with large font.
