What chess player would you like to meet?

I met Spassky and Euwe. Thats it as far as world champions.
Korchnoi. Would love to sit down and listen to his stories. Would love to know how he dealt with all that was going on during his WC matches.

I met the son of a Canadian GM Peter Biyiasis (forgive me Theo for butchering your dads last name). Heard a lot of nice stories about Fischer.

For those who may not know, Peter Biyiasas was married to the later Ruth (Orton) Haring, who was USCF president for 4 years.
Frank Brady had this to say (in "Endgame"):
"[In 1981-batgirl] Living not too far from his sister was Bobby’s friend, grandmaster Peter Biyiasas [at that time rated 2490- batgirl] and his wife Ruth, so Bobby stayed there for weeks on end. Over a period of four months Fischer and Biyiasas played seventeen five-minute games and Bobby won them all, with Biyiasis claiming that he never got into an endgame once: Bobby would just wipe him off the board in short order every time."
So, no doubt there are some stories to be told.

Ruth was a very nice and sweet woman.

I got an autograph from GM Ehlvest at a World Open a long time ago. Would like to see him again along with the likes of Caruana.
That wasn't the 1988 World Open in Saint John, New Brunswick, was it?

Ruth was a very nice and sweet woman.
and a decent player.
For anyone who might be vaguely interested, she's mentioned in 1974-1982 US Women's Championships:

The second link also covered Ruth Haring, Diane Savereide, Rachel Crotto and Diana Lanni at the 1982 Olympiads.

I played her husband Peter in a simul when i was in high school. Fast forward about 10 years ago. Im at a tournament and im paired with a Theo Biyiasis. That is not a common name so i asked him if his dad was Peter Biyiasis? It was and that led to some really good stories. I know Theo is around 2150 now, but at least i can say im 1-1 against him.
Ill say Anad
