What courses would you advise.....

On another site, think it's the Magnus owned one, which of the 5 free courses would be better for a beginner do you think?

To give you an idea as to my level and study at the moment; I tend to stick to daily for now and I'm only 960 rated on chess.com (but improving I think) and for some inexplicable reason I have a provisional 1698? rating on another site (only played around 4 games there). My guessing is that on my best day I could provide a reasonable challenge at around 1300, although I am still perfectly capable of hanging my Queen lol.

At the moment I am reading through Yasser Seirawan - Winning Chess Tactics. I also try to do daily puzzles (focusing on weak areas) and I'm around 1450 level on those.  I'm trying to get a couple of hours each day, with a mixture of games, study, puzzles and GM Twitch streams.

I've opted for one course already, Caro-Kann, as I need to improve a lot with black and I'm trying to use this to answer e4.

I'm just unsure what other courses would be best to utilise.  I'm trying to open with Ruy Lopez at the moment, but also looking at the Italian game. However, my thinking is I shouldn't get bogged down in too much opening theory for now and would possibly be better off trying to learn checkmate patterns or some end game studies first.

I'm keen to improve (can't afford coaching) and I'd really appreciate any advice on this.  Thanks in advance.

Why get courses when millions of chess theories are in YouTube? You also have free analyzing tools that help you improve in your chess. You also also can improve your chess by playing more chess and find the opening that suits you best.

P.S. elos (or what you called scores) are different in different websites. The one you mentioned I assumed is Lichess. There is a 500 elo difference between Lichess and chess.com.

@Forgetful_Guy

Because the courses are free (otherwise I would utilise You Tube) and I like the way it's set up to play as you work through it. I think there's more chance of me retaining the info in this manner. thumbup.png
