We know that he has been imprisoned unjustly and deserves to be freed! Please go to this thread to show your support for this great chess talent:

A guy like that shouldn't even get to have a forum thread about him.

He should be punished and forced into oblivion.

Period.

if cheating at such high levels can take place so easily without noticing i wonder what will happen if some of them know the trick he used and use it at lower base. a complete havoc.

Boris problem was that he got greedy.  He should have notched up his rating by increment instead of destroying seasoned Grandmasters.  Set his engine to some level below optimal, good enough to win but not in such a direct fashion.  What I have not figured out is how he actually did it, I mean the tech and as far as I am aware no one has figured it out.  Pin hole cameras are not that small, not affordable ones anyway.  The idea of a vibration device makes sense.  it would be easy to use a code for the squares, e4 would be five short beeps (e is the fifth file) and four long beeps for the rank.  Lilov I think suggested some type of eye wear but this was not evident.  Either way Boris is busted now and I really wonder if winning those few tournaments was worth it.

It's been done before. I think the toes operate levers to input info, and a buzzer acts as output. There were a group of students scamming the casinos at Las Vegas in the late 70s with, I believe, a hacked (in the proper sense of the word) HP calculator/computer (HP-67?) using custom hardware they fitted in their shoes:

Interesting.

Apparently, thee is a marked simiarity between the playing styles of Houdini, and Borislav Ivanov.

There can be only one logical conclusion drawn from this: Houdini must be cheating!!! By getting its moves, from Ivanov!!!

He may be in search of the "secret" of chess

Boris was legend, ruthlessly persecuted by the chess establishment because of his success.  Nah seriously its still a mystery how he did it.  On looking at all the other chess cheetahs you essentially need a third party to relay the engine moves via radio signal and Boris would have had a receiver that could somehow translate moves probably through a code in the form of a slight vibration.  Short vibrations for rank, long vibrations for file.  So d4 would be . . . . _ _ _ _

I think he just used a completely in-ear hearing aid with wifi and someone else told him the moves.

Which phone did he use? The last event he got banned from, he refused to remove his shoes

Its not really a question of whether he cheated but how he did it.

Apparently a wireless transmitter would be in the shoe or else something that tapped out a code.
