I agree about One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. It's one of the few movies that is nearly as good as the book. In my mind, though, Kesey's best work was "Sometimes A Great Notion." I never did see the movie they made out of that one, though.

Whether that still counts as a "punk kid" or not probably depends on your perspective.
Resign immediately. Being up a queen for free is always winning, and even being up a queen for a minor piece or rook is always winning.
