trolls everywhere...
What do you feel about players that do perpetual checks when they are losing?

WalhallaRoad I sense troll. Or else, learn some chess!
not a troll, but I've learned my lesson. I'll make sure to never make a thread on this site or spend much time on these forums.

Clearly chess is not a good game for you if you complain about the rules.
Try checkers or tic tac toe.

I think that losing a win like this is very frustrating at the same time if you can avoid a loss by perpetual check it's making the best of a bad situation.
Walhallaroad. It's a good rule. Not cheap at all. IMHO. I would do the same every time. The game I saw the guy ended up check mating you. That is a good play on his part. Anyway, take it easy. Only a game.

But the lesson you have learned isn’t necessarily the best one. Here’s another lesson in all of this, maybe just maybe the individuals criticizing you are right. Why can’t you accept that in this particular case you might be wrong and someone else might be right?
Are you going to maintain that if you had a chance to draw a lost position by perpetual check you would not do so?? That because of your principles you would distain the draw and let your opponent win simply because you don’t like this rule? I sincerely doubt it. But if you can’t stand some criticism in this forum then by all means don’t post to it. >:[

Wrong lesson I think. All serious inquiries are generally well received. I think you got flak more because the idea of "winning only because of the rules" was tasty for some.
Please do continue to post. I've done so and have gotten a great deal of instructive feedback.
no thanks. There's no reason to continue to post on here. Too many tough guys on chess.com. Everyone is a bad boy and has something smart to say. It's a waste of time.

Well, that's your call. I can see how this experience would sour you on the chess.com forums. Not everyone "is a bad boy" and/or "has something smart to say" but your comment did provoke a lot of smart guys to come out of the woodwork. It's difficult to seperate the intelligence of a comment from the intelligence of its poster when we no so little about each other. Surely you have had your question answered, learned from this experience, and that's the important thing. Having seen how this mushroomed out of control I regret participating in it.

Give the OP a break why don't you?
My 12 year old daughter has learned a lesson that apparently the OP hasn’t and it is this: If you are going to post to any forum, public or private but especially public you’d better have a thick skin and be able to handle any criticism or flack that comes your way. In other words, “IF YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE HEAT STAY OUTTTA THE KITCHEN.”
If my daughter has learned this lesson, and believe me she has, then it would be a disservice to the OP to think that he can’t lean this lesson too. Posting to any forum involves opening ones self to criticism either warranted or not. If one is too thin skinned or immature to handle this then it is better that they do not post until they are better able to handle these forums. I think more of the OP than to assume he’s incapable of learning this fundamental lesson. Thank you very much. >:[

Aerodarts: and there's me thinking it is just a game. Wow!
Don't feel bad. I think a lot of people have come to such a conclusion at one time or another.

There is nothing cheap about a perpetual check, forcing a draw is a legitimate aspect of the game. Also keep on mind that we are on the internet, and people playing online games generally don't care about the person on the other side of the screen.

Just go away. You add nothing. Play Chess with retarded people; you just might be able to convince them that in case of a perpetual check the non retarded person always wins. Brillant! Oh, tubebender, you`ve done it again! You see, grasshopper, we will stay on your case unless you recant your stupid remarks or just simply stay quiet or leave Chess.com. You make me want to puke.
For the record, you're not adding anything either.
lol what a joke. He was only able to draw due to the rules of the game.
Damn rules ! That's all their fault !
