What do you think about this kind of chess?


It seems to me he wanted just to double every pieces, but this come to the question: did you doubled also the kings? was not better to have a board 15x15 with a single king or 14x14 with single king and queen?
Another thing worth o point out is that with such a board the knights will be much worse than bishops because they will need even more time to move around, so probably knights should move differently...
Double Chess (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_Chess) features a 12x16 board where checkmating either king wins.

to be exact, you posted a 16x16 board picture where doublechess have a 16x12 board, so its not the same.
Although it's interesting to look at. I personally like most chess variations because they make you look at many different angles.

Looks pretty epic. I seriously wonder how long such a game would take, even if you were playing fast. Well, we know what to turn to when chess gets solved :)
