What do you think GM Hikaru IQ is?

Hikaru Nakamura (born December 9, 1987) is an American chess grandmaster and streamer. A chess prodigy, he was at the time the youngest American to earn the title of Grandmaster in 2003, aged 15 years and 79 days. Nakamura is a five-time United States champion. He won the 2011 edition of Tata Steel Chess Tournament Group A and represented the United States at five Chess Olympiads, winning a team gold medal and two team bronze medals.
156-158 - Genius IQ level. When it comes to chess, few are better than Hikaru Nakamura. His combination of a high IQ and his training since childhood has been key to his success in becoming one of the best players in history.

Hikaru takes Mensa IQ Test
In 2020, Hikaru undertook the Mensa online IQ tests, in which he scored 102. Considering that average IQ is 100, Nakamura seems to have only slightly passed the average person's IQ. Nakamura is a very good chess player, but he practices chess more than an average person.Apr 15, 2021
Ofc, this is just an online one and won’t be the most accurate, but it’s interesting still
I guarantee that Hikaru's IQ is not 102. Online IQ tests are mostly bogus. Id bet its no less than 145. People can make the argument that his performance is a result of his practice and efforts: This is very one sided in considering the number of individuals with similar formative backgrounds not demonstrating early prodigious output, and achieving SuperGM status, as well as the variabilities of individuals with a similar volume of time invested, formative years aside. I could be wrong here, and want to be as kind as possible, but I do not think IQs of 102 and chess prodigies/ IMs/ GMS/ SuperGMs/ NMs overlap in a venn diagram. This capacity requires a robust Intellectual Quotient, far more complex and not as easily measured as the model leads us to think.

He also picked a street fight and got choked out by a fellow GM; that’s wasn’t very bright was it?
It’s one thing to be short, but arrogant and annoying are two different things. Wouldn’t surprise me if he lost IQ points afterwards.

Nakamura is a living proof that IQ tests are nonsense. [mine is 133, and that's not from an internet test. so this doesn't come from jealousy]. even Wikipedia, which usually has quotes from resources, say that its not clear what this test is exactly testing.
It's pretty obvious that the test Nakamura took was seriously flawed. You don't become a GM with an IQ of 102. Actually I'd be extremely surprised if any GM at all would ever have an IQ under 130, even less so a so-called 'Super GM' ... You can make it pretty far with practice and knowledge, but like in any discipline, you can only ever attain the elite level with a combination of hard work / practice and natural ability... Either Nakamura didn't take the test properly (not concentrated/etc), or the test was complete rubbish. Possibly a combination of both. Either way, no way a super GM has an IQ of 102 ...

So, you believe test was either flawed or he wasn't taking it seriously/concentrating?
For the sake of argument, what if neither of those is true?

IQ is grounded in general knowledge. Chess is not.
A lot of GMs are very bright. Many are duller than a cheese spreader.

I'm in the 200s every time I run it
Well I highly doubt that if it is one an online test it’s very inaccurate and faulty for reliable scores and if you are partaking in regular paper iq tests implied by you saying every time you run it then that would be nonsense average cost of an iq test is around 100 dollars depending on where you live so spending that multiple times doesn’t make any sense
What do you think GM Hikaru Nakamura IQ is?
Why do we worry so much about IQ?
What do you think GM Hikaru Nakamura IQ is?
I really don't care...
What???!!!! Why doesn't this question occupy your every waking moment?
There's a famous saying, "If you're so smart, why aren't you a billionaire?" The answer is simple, that some measures of intelligence are not highly correlated to achievement. Marilyn vos Savant is reported to have an estimated IQ of 228. Other than being an advice columnist, she never became a GM, Nobel Prize winner, Pulitzer winner, or proved a famous theorem or law.
Since this forum deals with chess, and how to improve in the game, I'd rather have some of the traits of Hikaru Nakamura than a high IQ score. In an interview, Hikaru attributes his chess talent to intuition.

He knows a lot about the history of chess, and discusses the strengths of Magnus Carlsen, Gary Kasparov, and Bobby Fischer. Being (or not being) a member of Mensa has very little to do with chess genius. Pattern recognition, calculation, and psychology are far more important than a misleading IQ score.
