What do you think GM Hikaru IQ is?

Just abolish the IQ system and put everyone into 5 groups: Mental Disability, Below Average, Average, Above Average, and Gifted
we do iq is just so we can do that

Somebody might misunderstand an IQ of 80 as being 80/100

You do not need to guess. GM Nakamura took a IQ test and scored 102 and that result is published.
He took the test while streaming, which does not inspire confidence in the accuracy of the results.
Was a time the word "published" meant something other than Internet claims in chat rooms and a streaming video that has been removed. Der Spiegel published Garry Kasparov's IQ test after they arranged for him to take it under controlled (i.e. test) conditions.
In the 34 pages of this thread, almost every comment is based on bad data or no data.

Again so what. IQ has nothing to do with Chess Skill. And all we know about his IQ is the results GM Nakamura achieved in his test.
"Nothing" is a slight exaggeration. IQ and chess skill are weakly correlated. That's little, but it ain't nothin'.

Very weakly at best. Since GM Nakamura is a much better chess player. Then a true genius like Albert Einstein!
Everyone knows the famous Albert Einstein, the theoretical physicist. But did you know that Einstein also played chess, he is a decent chess player, his Elo rating is around 1500. Einstein was also known that he was a friend of the former world champion, Emanuel Lasker.
We don't know Nakamura's IQ and we don't know Einstein's Elo. As I said, "bad or no data".

Einstein is a genius with a IQ of about 160 says the experts. And Einstein sucked at chess.
GM Nakamura took a IQ test and scored 102. And GM Nakamura is a genius at chess.
These are the facts we do know.
Experts in IQ do not speculate.
Nakamura's test was not taken in testing conditions and therefore is not valid.
These "facts" are only that posers have made these claims. Experts know that an absence of data allows only speculation.
I'm only repeating the same thing I've written here 37 times.

So you are saying I made it up. And Einstein was not a genius. And I am good with that. And Einstein also sucked at chess. And that is a fact. As he was a chess player.
GM Nakamura took a IQ test and scored 102, and is not a genius. And that is a fact. And also a fact is that GM Nakamura is a genius at chess.
So again my statement is correct. And IQ has nothing to do with chess playing strength.
You're wrong on all three points.
No. that's not what I'm saying at all. You didn't make it up. People believe that Einstein was super bright for good reason. An IQ score for him, however, is pure speculation. It is not the work of experts.
Nakamura gave himself an IQ test under less than ideal conditions. Do not trust the score.
IQ has very little to do with chess strength, but not nothing.
A view from some experts:
Burgoyne, A., et al. "The Relationship Between Cognitive Ability and Chess Skill: A Comprehensive Meta-analysis." Intelligence, 59 (2016), 72-83. doi.org/10.1016/j.intell.2016.08.002.
Abstract: Why are some people more skilled in complex domains than other people? Here, we conducted a meta-analysis to evaluate the relationship between cognitive ability and skill in chess. Chess skill correlated positively and significantly with fluid reasoning (Gf) (r−=0.24), comprehension-knowledge (Gc) (r−=0.22), short-term memory (Gsm) (r−=0.25), and processing speed (Gs) (r−=0.24); the meta-analytic average of the correlations was (r−=0.24). Moreover, the correlation between Gf and chess skill was moderated by age (r−=0.32 for youth samples vs. r−=0.11 for adult samples), and skill level (r−=0.32 for unranked samples vs. r−=0.14 for ranked samples). Interestingly, chess skill correlated more strongly with numerical ability (r−=0.35) than with verbal ability (r−=0.19) or visuospatial ability (r−=0.13). The results suggest that cognitive ability contributes meaningfully to individual differences in chess skill, particularly in young chess players and/or at lower levels of skill.

GM Nakamura Scored 102 on his IQ test. And is a genius chess.

Stephen Hawking’s IQ – How Yours Compares to His and Other Famous Persons’ IQThere is a lot of talk recently about Stephen Hawking since his recent comment about God and the creation of the universe and the release of his upcoming book. This has led to many searching for information on Hawking. Interestingly his IQ is reported around 160. Hawking claimed, “people who boast about their IQs are losers”. In our book about understanding personalities and intelligence, my daughter, Toni Rothpletz, and I wrote about the importance of IQ and EQ (emotional quotient or measure of emotional intelligence). Many organizations now are putting more of a focus on hiring those with a high EQ. However, it may be fun to see how your IQ compares to some famous people in history. What garbage. A large chunk of those people were alive before IQ tests were even created.
Amazing how most of their "real" IQ results end in 0 or 5. It's not like they are all estimated IQ by some amateur...oh wait.
When some sportscaster ranks his top 10 ten teams ever, is that also authoritative?
When some historian claims Germany would have won WWII if XYZ had happened, do you believe them?

how is every iq above 100? Statistically, this is impossible.

how is every iq above 100? Statistically, this is impossible.
That doesn't make sense. It's a cherry picked list, and also full of estimated IQs...of course they can all "statistically" be over 100. Lol.
"This list of 46 US presidents can't *all* be US presidents...that would be impossible statistically..."
No.
Just abolish the IQ system and put everyone into 5 groups: Mental Disability, Below Average, Average, Above Average, and Gifted
