No idea I just googled the name Zuccarelllo and it said he was fron Norway. Carlsen and Naka just played a tournament together in Zurich so I am guessing what he means but I have no idea just guessing

Interesting.  In the months since Carlsen has been the champion, it does not seem as if he has won over many new fans.  I wonder why that is.

Carlsen's big ego is finally starting to be exposed for what it is.

Everyone knew Fischer, Kasparov, Nakamura, Kramnik, etc. had/have big egos, but for some reason Carlsen was portrayed as some kind of innocent boy. That seems to be changing.

Nothing wrong with Carlsen's ego and arrogance (he's got the game to back it up, and like I said he's far from alone), but fans are starting to open their eyes.

And by the way, as a Rangers fan, I LOVE Mats Zuccarello!!

Tough loss to the Oilers tonight. Ugh.

JustinJ_FairfieldU

its hard to say if he is joking or not though from the context of the conversation.

What is he supposed to have done in just over two months? I don't even think he had time to expose his big ego all that much :-) Previous World Champions didn't even play close after winning the title, while Carlsen just won the highest rated tournament ever with the highest Elo performance ever.

It has to be said that Nakamura schooled Carlsen with his brilliant play in the zurich tournament...unfortunately he fell at the last hurdle and although over 8.00+  ahead at one stage, according to houdini, he couldn't convert. But the fact that he had outplayed Carlsen for most of the game bodes well for Nakamura's future and I think that it won't be long before Nakamura is beating Carlsen on a regular basis.

Schooled. You're basing that on a game Carlsen won. As per.

No bias there at all.

There's no trend at all. Carlsen walks over Hikaru and there's no evidence of this changing. Certainly not a single game. As white. Which he lost.

It could be more like:

"Even with a +8 advantage according to engines, Nakamura was not able to win"

But that way it doesn't sound very inspirational.

DrCheckevertim

Idunno, to me it just sounds like some passive-aggressive whining or perhaps jealousy Undecided

Naka just needs to get over that psychological glitch that stops him turning his fantastic play into deserved victories , when he makes the breakthrough, and he is close, he will go from strength to strength and will definitely challenge for the world title one day, maybe next year or the year after but soon enough anyway. Carlsen of course is a fantastic player but nobody really gives him a game, apart from Nakamura that is.

Anand put up a pitiful display in defence of his world title ... I'm waiting for Carlsen to prove his credentials by playing a real world championship match against a strong supergm in good form.

Johnsmith1515

Hes butthurt that Carlsen is +8-0=15 on him.

Scottrf

Carlsen proves his credentials every time he plays. He's Mr. Consistent.

There's no denying it, Carlsen is consistently at the top-his rating proves that , but he has not had to do much to become world champion - lets get it right ,that match with Anand was far too easy for Magnus and he needs to play a world championship match where he is put under the greatest pressure and prevails .Then we can say he belongs in the pantheon of greats.

Scottrf

Yeah. But before playing Anand there were those that thought his lack of match experience would be a key factor. The overwhelming factor in any matchup would simply be that he's clearly a better player than anyone else.

An Aronian matchup or even Kramnik would be great. I think Nakamura would admit he's not quite there yet.

If winning a title match easily can not be combined with being one of the greats, all Carlsen had to do was to play much worse against Anand so the match was more even :-) I think players like Fischer and Carlsen belong among the greats in spite of not scoring more even results in their one title match (this far). It isn't only about title matches.
