Okay, so I'm new here and I have to say it is hurting my soul. I'm not bad at chess. Playing in real life with others on an actual board I have a FIDE score of about 1550. But as soon as I started playing online, I sucked. I couldn't think, I had to resign games and the ones I played through I lost. I have a three digit score in Blitz and a dangerously low one in the other catagories. Any advice? I shouldn't suck this much.

Probably just because you're new. In real life, I'm also better (as far as I can tell, though I don't even record my games on paper). I always play without time controls OTB, maybe it's because of that. Or it's simply about actually seeing your opponent and actually being there, moving the pieces with your hands, etc.
Online chess takes a while to get used to.

Okay, that makes sense. I'm just afraid that I will get to a point where no one will play when they see my score. Also, I have the feeing that I waited to long to actually get into playing. I learned how to play when I was 12, and stopped for years. Know I'm 17, and I feel I let to much time slip by.

Geez, don't take it so seriously, just play and don't worry about it.

Haha, that's cute. I learned the rules when I was like 9 and stopped immediately basically having no talent whatsoever.
I only recently picked it up, at the age of 23 to kill time. If you're not about becoming a master any time soon, then who the hell cares about ratings anyway (online ratings are not to be trusted either).
The system allows you to pick the rating range you want to play in. Just set it to anything, the system will only pair up players if their criteria meet, meaning no one will disconnect just because of your low rating.

I appreciate all advice and I understand what you mean. Its more of a wish that I could be better. But no matter what, I'll always enjoy chess.
