What is Considered Fast Growth ?

I’m now 1930 after 1 year and 3 months. I feel like I’ve exceeded my own expectations by far . How fast do the top GM’s progress ?
I mean I think 8 months and being 2000 is mlfast growth but I got stuck or a while but I'm back to fart improvement now
Fast growth is just not being stuck but being stuck could just mean your trying new things so don't focus on the number so much so even if your not "improving fast " you could jump 200,300,400,500,etc overnight if you have been stuck for a year
But yes 1900 in a year is pretty decent considering most people won't be 1900 even if they could
Top GMs have gotten to roughly master level in roughly 2 years. A 2200 OTB rating is pretty easily over 2400 rapid on chess.com. Maybe more like 2500-2600 although at a certain point rapid ratings aren't real but anyway...
...even faster than that is the way people exaggerate their progress online
Your rate of improvement is very good. Good job.
Two years ? I guess that makes sense thats how quickly I improved to around cm or nm level ... Though there isn't a set number persay

A young player who is grinding and at master level OTB would be more like 2600 blitz, but yes, your progress is very good.
... although I see a few weeks after making your account you were 1700 blitz so... again, like I said, the fastest rate of improvement anyone can find is the way people exaggerate online.
Actualy I was stuck around 1400-1600 for a little while more like a month
But I have seen plenty of nms be 2200 blitz online I think i have better board vision irl
But I could get cm pretty easily I think and I know a kid that's just as good as me and does all the things he's "supposed to" like coaching otb,etc so I think I'm on the right track if I'm improving just as fast as the really good kids (minus those 2800+ prodeges )

Yes but that's not telling who I have beaten or how good I am at all actually half the titled players I play against (like 2500) call me good for some reason .... Well the ones that actually talk in chat anyway
Sure, if a master stops playing chess for 10 years, and is 70 years old, and their crinkled hands can't hold a mouse or tap a screen, then they will be rated pretty low in blitz.
But a teenager who is over 2200 OTB, and is playing many blitz games every day (grinding) will be more like 2600 blitz.
And yes, I saw you were around 1400-1600, but you did pop over 1700 briefly on, like, your 6th week here... a beginner would be rated more like 100 on their 6th week.
Maybe one problem is kids lie about their improvement which gives other kids self esteem issues and so they lie... and on and on... in reality, it's ok to improve 100 points in a single year.
No actually they are kids and 20+ year olds that do otb consistently and haven't quit chess lmao ...
The only reason I went from 1200-1700 for a few weeks was cause I grinded consistently
I have a vague memory of not actually being 1600 for a little while....

I know it's ok to improve 100 points in a single year but that wasn't what happened .... Why you 60 year olds think I'm garbage at gess and haven't even played me lmao optimized did this to me by saying my daily rating is garbage (hate daily perfer rapid instead ) and assume I'm actually a 1500 apparently I'm 1500 according to him ....
Considering elo doesn't explain all the progress I have made... Sinc eit is just a number I don't get so hung up on it probably why I'm not 2500 + lol
Uh-huh... but I can see your rating history, and I play OTB so I already know all these things.
2200 blitz would be a very low rating for a master... this isn't fun to argue about since it's dumb.
I agree 2200 rating is low

Wanna play a couple rapid or daily games to try to see what my strength level is ? Cause I kinda don't want people to assume just on stats
Why you 60 year olds think I'm garbage at gess
I didn't say you're garbage.
If you play OTB and you wont have to guess what your rating is.
True I'm guessing 1800-2000 about give or take but I'm probably not going to play otb until after school

Nah, I don't want to play. And anyway the easier way is just play random games because the rating system rates you automatically.
The issue is people say I'm garbage but then get this nonsense pulled on them and get called a cheater or I am secretly a 2500 (or just good lol)
That's why I like playing games against people first before they say my ratie of improvement is bad (agree not the greatest but still really impressive )
This wasn't even considered a good game by me ironically I thought I could do better than that...

Btw I play on other websites partly why the 1200-1600 in a week doesn't explain much I was playing on lichess a couple weeks to a few months before hand he was a terrible I'm but still lol
The self esteem of kids is too low... you're not garbage or a cheater, and you don't have to prove yourself to people. You're good at chess, and your rate of improvement is good too. If strangers call you names don't pay attention to them. If your friends are mean to you then dump them and get new friends. If your family is mean then after you move out get some therapy in your 20s and good luck :-p
I'm not proving myself lol i was actually just saying don't judge it based off elo... Elo isn't everything
