What is FIDE Online Arena? How does it work? Is FIDE Arena Elo = FIDE ELO

If they have this kind of photo are computers. But the system tells you so "if no real player appeared so you play against a bot"

Right, THOSE ones are openly labeled as computer accounts. But there are dozens more posing as human accounts (I've identified 58 that I could name) with avatars of actual people, but which are actually computers, and which you can play rated games against.

I disagree. I played hundreds of games in there and i never founded a bot except in the cases of the system tells you so . But I do think you consider a bot what is not a bot. Why I know that? because a bot never changes its rating after a game.

Hello, I am new in the forums and I saw this topic. I tend to disagree that accounts there are computers. Can I see your account so I can check it out. You can check my account too. My opponents do not make the same mistakes over and over again.

You don't disagree. Nothing in your post claims that it's possible for a human account to play full games in 15 seconds and make the identical moves and mistakes every time. All you said was that you personally hadn't noticed it happening.

So, try keeping an eye out for it. Next time you encounter an opponent over there who makes every move instantly, save the game, Rematch them, and trying playing that exact same game again. If you don't vary, they won't. As I say, I've identified 59 such accounts, some of whom I've won the queen from in the exact same way a half dozen times. While I don't mind the free rating points, I'm not going to pay to play on a site like that.

Here's positive proof: a screenshot of one of the phony accounts in action. It was a 15G game. As you can see, it's Move 58, and I've used 6:32, while black has used 15 seconds for the entire game (or, an average of a quarter of a second per move). The account does NOT have the Pac Man Ghost avatar, it shows an actual person, and I got rating points for winning this game. Chat is also deactivated, as it always is with these accounts.

This game would never be played now, as I've since worked out move orders for both White and Black to beat their computer accounts much quicker than this. Surely these accounts are maintained by the site itself, probably to make it look like they have more users than they do. If an ordinary user wanted to use computer assistance, they wouldn't use such a weak program. And there wouldn't be dozens of them all using the same program.

She looks like a real person to me. She is a FIDE Arena employee. I think she is the one who emails people (if I am not mistaken). Where are the other "I've counted 48 bots so far". I am also new in FIDE arena. I just paid premium membership. My experience is very good so far. I read chess books. I am practicing here in chess.com. I play rated serious games there. And it is improving my game. Overall, it is getting me motivated to train hard. Trying to get AFM through rapid. And maybe will train blitz for arena IM if I cannot get it in rapid.

I don't deny that there might be a real person by that name (there's certainly a real person in the avatar picture) and that real person might be one of their employees. But a real person clearly isn't playing this account's games. Real people don't average a quarter of a second per move every move of every game. And they don't forget to recapture on the same queen exchange a dozen times. If you go to the Cheating Forum on this site, probably 100% of the people you ask will tell you that's a computer playing.

Now, to be clear, none of the games I played were FOA rated. You need a paying account to play those, and I don't have one. These were all played using the site's regular rating system. If you only play FOA rated games, that might explain why you haven't seen it.

Oh ok, maybe your points are correct. I have not experienced robot suspicion in the premium pool yet. All games I played so far feel so human.

So basically FIDE Online Arena elo is nothing different from chess.com elo. In the sense that it means absolutely nothing outside of the site?

The FOA titles are official, they are displayed on the player’s FIDE profile as well as at official OTB events. Unlike over-the-board titles, the FOA titles do not differentiate by sex and apply to both women and men equally. The online titles are automatic: once the player reaches a certain rating and is able to maintain it for a required number of games, they are eligible for the online title. You can obtain the FOA Title recognized by FIDE by playing FOA-rated games on FIDE Online Arena. What are the exact FOA Titles: 👑 Arena Grandmaster (AGM) — Rating 2000; the player must maintain the rating at or above 2000 for 50 games for Rapid time control or 100 games for Blitz or 150 games for Bullet to qualify for the online title. 👑 Arena International Master (AIM) — Rating 1700; the player must maintain the rating at or above 1700 for 50 games for Rapid time control or 100 games for Blitz or 150 games for Bullet to qualify for the online title. 👑 Arena FIDE Master (AFM) — Rating 1400; the player must maintain the rating at or above 1400 for 50 games for Rapid time control or 100 games for Blitz or 150 games for Bullet to qualify for the online title. 👑 Arena Candidate Master (ACM) — Rating 1100; the player must maintain the rating at or above 1100 for 50 games for Rapid time control or 100 games for Blitz or 150 games for Bullet to qualify for the online title.

Thats on the FOA website, not sure if this helps, I'm looking into as well.

So do the over-the-board titles, unless they're specifically designated as women's titles.

Duke_of_Zork is spot on. There are many players on FOA online which are not human but FOA pretend they are. I have checked this and this seems totally wrong. Different names make the same mistake in the opening in uncommon lines. This is impossible. This should not be something to spend your money on.

It is not a waste of money. I got the just 2 weeks ago and with my fide rating & the AFM title, I have seen a lot of improve in my final standings of the tournament.

It just takes 20 Euroes to sign up and 5 to claim the title. I've seen many people who have not claimed the ACM title but as soon as they get the AFM title they will pay 5 euroes. This too saves money. Due to this they will not need to pay the money for ACM title but only for AFM title.

ACM title (Arena Candidate Master- 1100> rating for 150 blitz games or 100 rapid or 50 bullet.

AFM (Arena Fide Master)- 1400> rating for 150 blitz games or 100 rapid or 50 bullet.

AIM (Arena International Master)- 1700> rating for 150 blitz games or 100 rapid or 50 bullet.

AGM (Arena Grandmaster)- 2000> rating for 150 blitz games or 100 rapid or 50 bullet.

Thanks for the information

Comparing any online FIDE rating vs the rest of the chess sites across the planet is like comparing day and night. The correct rating that borders on perfection is called Arena FIDE. Disdaining FOA classifications also seems to me much more like envy of those who do it than anything else that has any practical basis. FOA classifications perfectly serve players with high average playing strength and who do not have the money, time, and often not even the interest in obtaining a title in the conventional way. But the most important thing of all in FIDE Arena, and which goes unnoticed by many players, is the tool that notifies you that a human player has not been found and that a bot from the site will be activated to play against you, not wanting to play against a disgusting machine, just cancel the challenge. Chess.com, lichess and others should copy this extremely important tool, why don't they? I leave the answer to everyone's imagination...

Chess.com does not want bots in the player pools. If a player wants to play a bot, there's a section for that.

FrankAbagnale-Sr

Because there are no players they use bots. Sometimes these are real bots and you know it but they use also so called players that in reality do not exist and they are bots also. Fake. I like the comment of Martin Stahl.

sergeykadukov

Могу ли я играть на chess.com в турнирах, например в титульном вторнике,имея звания от арены фиде?

FrankAbagnale-Sr

No these titels are not recognized. You have to have a real OTB titel.
