What is "timeout ratio"?

I am trying to join a tournament and am being told that "You must have a timeout ratio lower than 10% to play in this tournament."  Could someone explain that?  Thanks!

If for example you're playing a 3 day game in online chess. If you don't make atleast one move within those three days, you lose on time. This then causes whats called a
Time Out Ratio.

The time out ratio is a percentage of the games you've played, that have ended by not moving in time.

This appears on the bottom of your stats, on your online games page and can only be lowered by playing more online games and not letting them run out of time.

understand the timeout ratio, but is there somewhere it shows how many games - actual, not percentage - you lost on time?  I've played almost 800 games, and I am pretty sure I never timed out of 80 of them.

All Games
Total Games:     787
In Progress:     48
Timeouts:     11% (last 90 days)

There isn't a page that shows 'just timed out games'. You'd have to go through the previous 90 days of lost games to see which ones were lost on time sorry.

Kohai, would it be possible to show how many games are won on "opponent time-outs" (percentage or number of games) as well,  as opposed to "own time-outs"? as this would give players a more accurate assessment of your rating strength. For example, I may be rated say, 2000, but if 20% of those were won on my opponents "timing out", it reduces that figure and indicates a more realistic level of my chess playing ability.

Why not post the idea in the 'Suggestions' forum ? That way it gets added to the list of site features to be considered. Also then we can gage how many other members would like to see this option added aswell.
