What's wrong with Bxe7 followed by Nxc6?
What is the best move?
White to move. In response to blueemu yes, I should have played that and if the rook takes I would have forked the Rook and the Queen.
I would also play 1.Bxe7 Qxe7 2.Nxc6. You win a piece. If the rook captures I would fork it and the queen. Even if the queen captures it is forced to move and you gain a tempo. Later, g5 will drive the knight to d7.

Once you've got an extra piece, I would probably prefer to play f5 (opening the K-side) rather than g5 (closing the K-side).
This is a position from a game I played. I played h3 and lost. What would you play?
