Hyperbullet is perfectly fine. If your rating is not good that's a whole different thing. It is almost just like a variant.
What is the point of hyperbullet games?

But you can never learn. Most players just use premove all the times and end up playing really stupidly but winning on time

Hyperbullet games should not be played at the beginner level though. Beginners should just start with blitz and rapid, then bullet, and then perhaps the occasional hyperbullet game. That was my path.

I think that playing hyperbullet (30sec,20sec,10sec etc.) games is not good for you. I’m not saying this because I’m not good at them, I’m just thinking that chess.com shouldn’t have added it. Bullet chess should be the limit; hyperbullet goes too far.
In the future, there is likely be 5 seconds games and 3 seconds games. And people will be enjoying it.
The reason is that some people can play good chess within 1-2 seconds meanwhile some people cant play good chess even within 1-2 hours.
E.g Some highly exprienced and well studied players can play the first 15 moves of theoretical opening in 1-2 seconds mostly by premoves . Meanwhile, inexpienced players are unable to play good first 15 moves even if you give them 1-2 hour.

Another example, most 2000+ bullet players can execute smothered mate within 1 second but beginners may miss even after thinking 10 minutes.

I think that’s why people play hyperbullet. Personally I can’t play hyper but I know many who do.

Hyperbullet doesn’t help you with the middlegame and endgame but it helps you a ton with the opening

no it doesn't lol
it doesn't help you with chess at all.

Actually it does because if you get opening traps played on you you’ll learn them quickly and not fall for them again, you’ll figure out what openings are most comfortable for you, and adjust your opening play.

who has time to think about opening traps? in a 15sec game nobody plays logical moves. That's why many who play hyper have a rating much higher than their blitz and especially rapid. They know how to exploit hyper's psychological aspects much better than others, but can't play well when needed.
