It is a waste of time because there’s no point in buying nft’s because you could save money for something else and if you do want a nft just find it on Google or a diff website

That's what I'm thinking. NFT's have no value, right? And why on earth is chess.com adding them to their site? Isn't this a chess website?

I can’t believe I have to explain this. it means non-interchangeable unit of data
Chess.com is in a downward spiral! 
First they released leagues, which was obviously a ploy to boost their statistics. All leagues caused was a boost in cheating and violations of Fair Play. Now NFT's and verification, both obviously money ploys. From my understanding, NFT's and cryptocurrency hold no value, no reliable value at all. Verification does very little for $10 except for give you a little blue check. At this rate, who knows what they're going to do next!

Value is determined by those willing to buy things. If someone buys something, it has value to them at least.

You get access to verified only events, such as the Chess.com World Championships and they mentioned there will be more events as well.
As to crpytocurrency, it obviously has value if you can buy things with it or exchange it for cash, which can be done.

Why are there chess NFT's?!!! What are they and why would anyone want to buy a chess NFT? Am I the only one who thinks this new feature is a waste of time?
