I have heard people say that they think lichess ratings are more inflated than chess.com ratings and vice versa. I wanted to finally learn which site is more inflated. So, what is your chess.com and lichess ratings?

Hmmm. So I guess lichess is a bit more overinflated. Looks like it’s almost by 500-600 points.

1600 lichess and 1800 here, but my lichess rating would probably be higher if I played more there

That's why weak players say it's better over there because they get a higher rating which makes them feel all.good inside 🤗 chess.com is clearly the best website.

About the same, but I use lichess to mess around w/ new openings and gambits

Honestly, ya. It boosts my ego so I play on it lol. The only thing about chess.com is the limited puzzles, but like I get that it is how chess.com can make money for premium accounts. Payed chess.com is superior to lichess.

Thanks for all the post guys. I don’t play on Lichess much, so I never knew which site was more inflated. I appreciate y’all taking the time to post these 😊

It’s a different formula (glicko 1 vs glicko 2). Lichess uses the better model (defined by how accurate it predicts results). In a nutshell Lichess will be higher until rating 2100 or so. After that Lichess will be lower than chess.com.

It doesn't use a better model, apparently, after a few games, you get 1 point for a win, 0 for a draw, and -1 for a loss.

Um…well I can’t argue with that stupidity, you win!

Lichess is higher for lower rated players, and the opposite for higher rated.

I'm about the same on both (it's equal around 2200 for blitz).

Interesting. I'm 2300 on LiChess and 2100 here. I feel like +-100pts is quite a high disparity
