Do you want me to link the thread and post?

lol, why would you link something that would prove me right, and prove you're talking out your arse?

So you don't deny you said that then.

I do deny it. You're making things up.

What I did talk about in that topic was a lot more interesting.

I wrote some stand alone code in python that simulated what would happen to a rating system when many new players join. I ran it under various conditions. I was curious about how the chess boom (covid and queen's gambit) would affect the chess.com rating system, if at all.

The result was that the ratings of established players are unaffected by people joining, no matter what the strength or starting rating of the new players is.

(you can affect ratings in extreme cases, and for reasons other than having new people sign up, but that's getting a bit off topic)

Many people think that the L ratings are just higher, but that’s not exactly correct. It’s more like the L ratings are more compressed and the bottom is much higher. At low ratings, the difference with chesscom is very high, but as ratings increase they become smaller and smaller, so by the time you reach the top, there’s not much difference at all. You can’t just say that L ratings are X amount higher than chesscom ratings.

my blitz is 250 higher on lichess which falls in line with the chessgoals site.

what you are saying sounds even worse.  What other types of scripts did you write to try on the site? lol  I can't believe you are even saying any of this publicly

Eh... I wish you were a little better at this.

lichess ratings are inflated compared to chess.com ratings. chess.com ratings are equivalent to FIDE ratings

Close to 1100 on Chess and 1650 on Lichess - but I play my practice games on Lichess when I'm working out new lines and openings - so if anything that under states the difference.

Be very careful, or I will log on as Ubik22 and call you a great big bully.

Coolout any of my former students are far more sporting than you are. They have actually played in real tournaments.

1200 on chess.com and 1900 on Lichess.  I put more stock into chess.com rating, I think it's about right.  1900, no way.

From what I have seen,  Lichess blitz is much easier for beginners having more consistent and competitive matchups for them.  Its about the same as chess.com for experts.   Roughly a 300 higher rating point difference on avg due to the different system and playerbase.    There are of course exceptions.  There is a little 8 yr old  russian girl i follow who is 2200 blitz on chess.com and 1850 on lichess.

Classical on lichess,  is just way way harder then chess.com imo and not nearly as popular.  But I would recommend lichess for beginner blitz players for sure.

Your Lichess account was closed for abuse.

stop making up lies you crazy old man lmao... wow.

It never happened man.   Why are you trying to prove me right about you?  What makes you even think that?   jeez...  Thats pretty fake of you.  It never happened on chess.com either.  I closed my account and re-opened it.   I literally said I was going to before I did it.

Sure man. Whatever you want to claim.

I didn't screenshot your closed account, but we both know what happened. Others noted it as well. I can only speculate about how you got it reopened, but there is no doubt it was closed. Maybe only for two days. I can see that you were posting again three days after the close.

No one disputes that you closed your own account here after you were given the refund. You made that public enough.

Welcome back (to both sites). Hope you find some ways to enjoy chess.

@MabuseMD, I don’t think to reach 98.4% you need 2300 rapid rating at lichess, from some point on it goes fast. Currently I’m around 2415 at lichess and 99.6 percentile. I think 2300 is above 99 petcentile.

I didn’t notice how it grows, I wasn’t playing at lichess until recently that I’ve found playing rapid at chess.com most likely means playing engine. So I moved my rapid games to lichess (yes it takes a long time to find someone similar rated), and from 2200 jumped to 2400 in less than two weeks, my rating now is still provisional there, but I didn’t check my percentile before to say where 2300 player stands. But I could say 2200 rapid player at lichess is a weak player: doesn’t have a plan, blunders 2-3 move easy calculations. I cannot say anything about 2200 player rapid player of chesscom since I strongly believe half of then are consulting with engine in some critical moments (this is why I don’t play rapid here, that’s really sad).

What makes you say we're playing engines on chess.com? I thought they could weed that out, even using it at vital moments. And I somehow thought (perhaps mistakenly, again), that chess.com was better equipped to detect cheating. In any case, not something I can identify during a game. I assume there is some cheating but that the majority are playing in good faith.

General question to anyone: is this board moderated at all? I'm surprised to see threads go so off topic.

About 3% of rapid players in Arena are using in my experience over the past twelve months. At least that's the percentage of my opponents who have been banned. The actual number must be a little higher.
