Change Setting of game abandoned

I am requesting a modification to the game settings. During the match, which was scheduled for 10 minutes, I still had 4 minutes left on my side of the clock, and I was going to win. Unfortunately, my internet connection was lost for 1 minute, and as a result, the game was abandoned. I am confused as to why this occurred since I had requested a 10-minute match and was prepared to play the full duration, just as my opponent was.

1 minute is not enough time to make a decision for game abandonment.

In as much as I will like to agree with you that 1 minute is short. I have had games where my opponents simply abandoned the game because they were losing. Having to wait for that one minutes is a long time for me knowing my opponent abandoned the game on purpose.

I have also lost games because I couldn't fix my connection in one minute, but I think one minute is enough time, if an opponent choose to leave the game on purpose because they are losing or having bad internet connection.

Waiting for just one minute might be a little short. But 1 minute and 30 seconds should be enough.

I chose a game where my opponent and I both get 10 minutes to play, which means I agreed to use my time and so did they. If you are willing to patiently play a game for 10 to 20 minutes, is it a big deal to wait for more than a minute for your opponent to return and continue playing? Even if your opponent chooses not to play, you would only need to wait for 1 minute and 30 seconds to complete the game.

Also, if someone lives in an area with a weak internet connection but still wants to play a game on chess.com, they could lose the game even if they were winning, just because of a small internet problem that didn't last for even one minute.

It's worth noting that switching to a different internet connection can take up to 30 seconds. Additionally, if your laptop or mobile device doesn't recognize the new connection quickly enough, you could lose the game. 1 minute is insufficient whereas 1 minute and 30 seconds would be more suitable.

I absolutely think the game-abandonment feature needs revision. Ridiculous, really, that 1 or even 2 minutes is "too long to wait". Remove the feature entirely, and deal with poor sportsmanship after the game. Chess.com, it is unfair to cancel a game on an internet disconnection.

I agree with you, cause when you click a 10 min you are willing to go the entire duration of the game and so is your opponent, so don't see a reason why game abandon feature exist.
